This was an amazing opportunity to write a chapter for a book that is on the topic that I hold near and dear to my heart. The experience was a bit stressful, as Dr. Leininger was my mentor and editor and those who knew her personally know she knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to let you know it! LOL I will always cherish the special times that she and I had, even if brief, she left a lasting mark on my heart and my career. TCN is my passion, it's what keeps me going after 30 years in nursing. Thank GOD for Dr. Leininger's vision, way before her time...... Many have criticized her for her spunk, and her honest critiques... but without that "spunk" TCN would have not survived the harsh criticisms that she endured when she first presented her theory and why it made so much sense..... RIP Madeline, I love you and will never ever forget what you have given me personally and what you have given our profession.I know God has you in a very special place,Love Always,Debra (Curren) Iverson
