This set is sold as a rice shampoo and conditioner, but I got it because it is supposed to help promote hair growth as well as improve hair condition. I looked at the ingredient list in search of any ingredient that had accepted scientific studies showing it helps with promoting hair growth (like rosemary leaf oil or some types of peptides), but I did not find any. Along with the rice ferment extract, both the shampoo and conditioner have biotin and keratin, which should help to make hair stronger so there is less breakage and hair loss, but these ingredients have not got any convincing research showing they promote hair growth. That was a bit disappointing. The shampoo has a good lather, and it cleaned my hair well. The conditioner made my hair feel very soft and it was noticeably less frizzy without being flat. These come in medium-sized (8.8 oz) pump bottles and just two small pumps of each bottle are all I need. This is a good set to use on damaged or dry hair.
